Well Modified Performance had a fantastic day at Ford Fair yesterday even with the light showers and wind!

The organising and setting up of the stand went without a hitch, thanks to Paul - you did a fantastic job. We had a great turnout this year with 13 vehicles and I would like to thank them as the owner of Modified Performance for their continuing support to the club. We had vehicles such as Mondeos, Transits, Focus, Escorts and Fiestas. Lets hope you can help make next year bigger and better! As always the show had a fantastic turnout, too much really for a one day show which we say every year. It was great to see such a variation in Fords, covering from todays to those ever amazing classics. If you are into classics, normal or even modified Fords then you really missed out because this show is for you. Having a stand near the track for once was a real treat although we didn’t seem to be able to appreciate it due to the size of the show. See it’s not just about showing your car it’s also the ability to take it on track for 20mins or try your luck on the 0-60 sprint. No matter how hard you try you will always miss something.

Since we are intending on improving Modified Performance’s appearances at shows we felt that it was a good idea to check out one of the new shows on the scene, Street Life.
Street Life was held on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2008 at NEC, Birmingham.

Modified Performance paid a visit to the show on the Sunday. In the advertising that did appear Street Life appeared to be almost identical to the old Max Power shows that ended two years ago. Unfortunately not only did the bad weather play part to spoiling the show, but it did not have the same response as former shows, having very low attendances over the weekend. There was only a small area of clubs outside and those that were out there simply gave up due to the rain.
There was also a live area which I decided to give a miss as there did not appear to be anything exciting or worth paying the extra £5 for.
In it’s defence there were varied selection of cars, ranging from your every day small hatches (Corsas, Civics, etc) to your classy expensive cars (Ferrari, Noble, etc). Unfortunately there just was not enough of a range considering the capabilities.
Covering 3 halls there was plenty of space for more cars and more traders. There seemed to be very few traders (appearing to be one of each thing e.g. number plates, car parts, koolart, etc).

Whether Street Life returns next year currently remains a mystery but going on this year it is looking doubtful.
